Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) is a government policy that was approved by Cabinet in 2014 and launched in 2017 to promote the consumption and procurement of goods and services produced locally.
This will encourage foreign and local investors to produce locally; improve capacity of local producers to supply government, enhance the quality and competitiveness on the local and International market, create jobs and drive the country to achieve middle Income status.
The 1st Buy Uganda Build Uganda BUBU Expo held 7-9th March 2019 at Kololo Airstrip attracted 350 exhibitors, 45 sponsors in various categories and hosted 500 delegates to the BUBU Expo Awards Gala Dinner.
The BUBU Expo is an annual three (3) day event under a Private-Public Partnership between the Ministry of Trade and Cooperatives (MTIC) and Investment Review Publications aimed at promoting Buy Uganda Build Uganda (BUBU) by:
1. Providing a platform to market all goods and services made in Uganda.
2. Supporting local producers access cheap and patient capital.
3. Encouraging and building patriotism in the general public.
4. Enhancing networking and coordination around the BUBU policy.
The 2nd BUBU Expo will take place at Kololo Airstrip (exhibition, conferences and awards dinner) from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th March 2020.
